Each line of the poem has a wide space in the middle between the two clauses, represented here by commas. These are the words: small is the seed, tall is the tree / small is the rain, wide is the river / small is the bird, strong is the wing / small is the star, bright is the gleam / small is the stone, vast is the mountain / small is the wave, deep is the sea / small is the breath, brave is the voice / small are the hands, bold is the heart
