Tyger Tyger Issue 4 – Chorus and Refrains, February 2023
Welcome to the fourth issue of Tyger Tyger Magazine, the Chorus and Refrains edition!
Here are twelve singing poems which demonstrate the power of repetition to move, delight and make memorable. Anticipate the visit of a beloved friend. Try very, very hard to obtain a pet. Meet an exasperated purveyor of buttons, then celebrate your wellies and the adventures you have with them. Remember someone you loved as the seasons turn, and make peace with a visit from Grief. Dream along with the mysterious magic lantern man. Pay your respects to the rebels who made everyday life possible, then discover the identity of a fascinating little creature who is definitely not a dragon. Meet an outraged older sibling with a strong sense of justice, then throw yourself into the pirate lifestyle. And finally, find yourself enticed beneath the earth by the powerful Mole King…
Each poem is available as a free poem-poster to download, print and display, and there are free teaching resources around ‘Anticipation’, ‘Pirate Song’ and ‘King of the Moles’.
